Can't seem to purge air pocket

I pulled the lower radiator hose the other day when changing the p/s pump.
I filled the degas bottle with g05/distilled water to the fill mark.

When running after a good drive, the tank is near empty. When the truck is cut off and cool, the bottle returns to the fill mark.

I also noticed that the coolant temp is about 15-20 degrees cooler than the oil temp. Usually it is no more than a 10 degree difference.(I put in a new oil cooler and coolant filter about 6 months ago)

How do I purge the air pocket? I have tried idling the motor with the degas cap off, but nothing seems to change.

I think the air has worked its way out.
The other day I came home and the tank was low, I topped it off while the motor was hot and running.
The tank now stays at the same level hot, cold, running or not.

The only thing that has me puzzled it that the coolant and oil temps still have a larger split than they should.

Today in normal traffic, ect was about 185 and eot about 210.
The oil cooler is 6 months old with about 12k miles. A coolant filter was installed when the oil cooler was replaced. Filter has been changed twice. Egr cooler was blocked off when the other work was done also.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Wouldn't the oil cooler slowly clog making the temp spread gradually?
Ever since I put in the new cooler, there was only a few degrees difference.
Only since pulling off the lower rad hose a few days ago, has there been such a difference in temperatures.

Also, since there is no egr cooler to worry about overheating, should I even be concerned about the oil temps?
Where is the coolant routed to after the oil and egr coolers?

If it means anything, I have noticed that the coolant temps have been on average about 10 degrees cooler than normal.

I'll probably be pulling it all apart again very soon.
Just is annoying seeing how not very long ago I just replaced it.
before I replaced it I flushed the system very well with vc9.
Its gonna get old very quickly if every 12k miles the oil cooler has to be replaced. This motor only had about 60k miles before the first cooler was replaced.

Well I drained the coolant and added two bottles of vc9 and a whole lotta distilled water. I put about 40 miles on it.

Interesting note is that the temp spread was much better than before.
6 or 7 degrees around town, about 10 degrees on the hwy. The max difference was 14 degrees after getting on it.

I have about 17 more gallons of distilled to flush this thing out.

I am really not wanting to go through the hassle of changing out the cooler again, but I guess I might as well.

I ran about another 17 gallons through it. One thing I have noticed is that the water coming out of the block and radiator never looked bad.
It was pretty clear when draining out the vc9/water, and been pretty much completely clear with every other flush.

At this point, I am back down to the temps I was right after the oil cooler change.

I think I'll hold on to the oil cooler, but I think I will change the thermostat since I was originally had a ect temp in the 170's when this all started.

I'll also pull off the water pump and make sure its good to go.

After this if your coolant and oil temps are within 15* I would just watch it closely. If you consistently are more than 15 degrees apart I would go ahead with the oil cooler rebuild.
