Only problems i know are the bed sides rust out above the rear wheels. The dual tanks have a in tank pump in each so one goes out you use the other only.If its 2wd the i beams can be fun to hold a alignment. But they are good trucks run forever you still see a ton of them on the road.

I was wondering what is a good muffler to install

also how much a good bedliner would cost for my longbed

JMHO, NO muffler sounds best

As for a Rhino, Line-x, and so on you are looking at about 500

A good paint job at a good body shop where they do all the work will run well over $5k. Now if you remove the glass, emblems, lights, trim... & if you can scuff the paint, fix dents... you will save a couple thousand or more. Your best bet would be to discuss the work with the shop. Find out what you can do to save some money & what things they need to do in-house so that they will give you a good guarentee against peeling / flaking paint... Also if you plan to change colors you may want to pull the engine & strip the entire front end & pull the interior out. Around here you are looking at $600+ for a spray in liner.

Summit Racing – High Performance Car and Truck Parts l Edelbrock, ACCEL, Moroso, K More!
(http://www.summitracing.com) is a good place to look for parts. Usually you can figure a lot out just by looking at what is available for it.

http://www.nloc.net or LightningRodder.com (http://www.lightningrodder.com) Either place look in the Gen 1 section, many fast Lightnings in there. Most of them are 351W based engines but, there are a few 460 based engines.

I have a similar truck engine and all.

I went with 1.6 roller rockers, ford racing stainless headers, edelbrock 5.8 truck intake, 4.11 gears with 305-70-16 tires.. Bassani Lightning stainless Y-pipe with converters, flow master muffler and tailpipes, ford racing smog pump eliminator pulley, stock air box and filter, new plugs, 8.8 wires, cap, rotor, and timing bump. Very respectable performance and a major increase.

I will be installing aluminum GT-40 heads over the summer or winter most likely unless I can find a set of good condition cast iron GT-40 heads..

Also installed a new cycle sentry switch on the dryeer so i have ac finally. Man it has been hot here in san antonio

Also picked up my new radio and i am going to install it this weekend.

Three things i have wanted down and one to go for now, a Flowmaster super 40

I'd go with magnaflow before flowmaster. I can't standthe hollow tinny sound of the flowmasters. I wont even run flowmasterson my mustangs. It's bassani, borla, or magnaflow there.

ok thank you for the input

i already know from my wife that i have to wait to get an exhaust done so that will give me some time to research mufflers
