I found an 2001 F350-450 (unsure, truck is marked a 250 but its a dually) out in the junk yard, I already pulled the HP D60 and the rear D80, in the process I noticed the fuel tank was big, (btw this truck is a fleet truck with a flat bed, and the V10 motor) can this fuel tank be used as a replacement for my 97 dually as a bigger rear tank, also I was looking at the rear leaves and thought about replacing them on my truck, does anyone know if they are the same length or direct replacment for the OBS.. Just wondering, figured I would get advice before I spent money for fuel to head back out there..

The SD F350 leaf springs will work on the OBS. You have to drill out the holes in the front mount and the shackle to the larger bolt size but other than that it's a direct swap...at least that's what I've been told. Grab the bolt's and nuts when you take the springs out so that you don't have to hunt up metric bolts when you put them in your truck. If it's a 450 then I am not sure if it's an easy swap.
As far as the fuel tank I am not real sure. I bet you could make it work somehow but the amount of work involved I have no idea.

I've got pictures of a 40 gal tank from an F550 in my webshots. See if it looks like the one you saw.
