Problem

I have just developed a trans problem. One time out driving fine, a couple hours later start the truck up and no 3rd or 4th gear. my overdrive light would flash tho after driving a few miles. I had codes PO781 and P0782 which is 1-2 shift error and 2-3 shift error. Any help would be helpful to what the problem may be. changed fluid and filter no help.

Well your best bet is to have the codes cleared and see if the problem continues. I'd also suggest that you give someone like John Wood or Brian @ BTS a call. They can help you figure out what might be causing the issues. I did not read your signature but did you make any changes in the truck recently?

hey man i got ae if you need to get them cleared or want to put it on the computer. maybe something w/ the soleniod pack

i read codes and they where P0781 and P0782 which is 1-2 and 2-3 shift error I've had them cleared and i changed the fluid and filter but still not shifting john wood said i may have a stuck valve that i'll prolly need a new valve body.

Could be electrical or hydraulic problem.
You have to OHM the wiring. Then air test the hydraulic end.
Being that its a no shift is should be easy to find.

we tried a new vb and still nothin. is there a fuse for the solinoid pack

Yeah are there any kinda relays or anything that could be checked that may cause this or should it be a different code if it's electrial. Still throwing same PO782 2-3 shift error.

I have decided just to have mine built. I don't want to fix something and it last a little and mess up again. If i don't get it built i am not gonna trust it that will always be playing in the back of my mind.

yeah it wouln't bother me if it was a vb or the S pack somthing simple but I've checked both those and still can't figure it out.

Got time last evening to work on the trans. Sure enough the 2-3 shift valve was stuck. took it out and polished it up and now the truck is shifting prefect.

no doubt I changed the S pack and the accumlator body first. That was my last option and it worked so I am happy and the experence was worth it. Makes you feel better when you fix it yourself.

I'd like to thank Racer X also for letting me pretty much barrow a S pack to try and when that wasn't the problem he took it back. I'd also like to thank him and John wood for all there help and idea's of what the problem was. Great customer service from both.
