Red truck gets some lovin

Well I had blown my hg's and with the abuse the truck had taken, it deserved it. 125k most of it tuned, 75 k with nitrous shots, turbo, 190's. I took it over to the shop and lifted the cab. Pulled the heads and sent them to the machine shop to get checked out flattened if needed, new valves, and the whole shebang. Deleted the rest of the egr. New oil cooler, new ipr, new icp, cleaned the intake, recovered my 8 mm socket, :D, new up and y pipes, new down pipe, 4", amp research steps to be installed next week. Figure I am keeping her, might as well make it like new.

Going to pull the injectors and send them to make them 155's or so, new nozzles. I'm tired of the smoke. Though about maybe twins and bigg sticks, but i have the ranger, so screw it, buying a mustang gt instead to have fun with and start building. Time for another 125-200k on the ole girl. :bowfast: I love my truck, why get a new one. :ford:

Feel the same way. last year i did the same thing at 120k and almost the same situation, without the nos and 190's. Put new o-ringed heads back in with all the other stuff and gonna drive her till the wheels fall off. Then i'll weld them back on and keep going. :D

Sweet dude, I'm eager to see the results with some 155's. 8-hole 155's I'm assuming? And who is building them for you?

I could have swore I saw you run 12.50's at TS the first year I was there (4 years ago almost). Hmmn... Maybe that was someone else.

I did run it at ts now that I think of it, but it never ran a 12.50.

It is a clean looking truck for sure. I still think that 05' style front-end is one of Fords best looking F-series trucks yet...

what were you fuel only and what turbo? beans something if I remember from other posts right?

dalpilot
01-19-2011, 04:23 PM
I don't remember, I was right at 500 on fuel. I had a small shot of n20 only added about 80-85. Old ass beans turbo, that keeps on tickin.

New bushings throughout the front end going in today. The sway bar bushings were crap. Front end didn't feel tight like it used to, so I figured, get after it. Small tear in the drivers seat is bugging me. I have the black leather which I really like, so I can't decide if I want to replace with a new seat cushion, 285.00 from ford, or go with some aftermarket leather seat covers.

Atta' Boy. LOL

So do the 155's have 8-hole or 6-hole tips? Are you expecting to see an MPG increase?

Did you take it to the shop in Manor?

dalpilot
01-23-2011, 11:21 PM
Yeah I took it to Manor. I haven't done the 155's yet. I am gonna pull those out in a week or so, but the truck runs sooooo much better after cleaning the intake out and the valve job.

Yeah i haven't seen a bumper like that in the 05-07 superduty's with the fogs to the outside of the bumper. Oh.....it must be a harley bumper i bet then.

it sure looks sweet. is it just the platic piece that's modded for the fogs or the whole bumper? What kinda fogs does Tim have in the bumper? I'd love to see some close up pics of it and the fogs.

It's the steel lower 1/2 that's modified. The upper 1/2 is original.
Dan doesn't have time to make them anymore, if I had an order for 3-4 I could do them all at once.
I'd have to buy a bumper for 150 bucks at a local place I use, do the work and try to make a buck...so 350 + shipping with no core necessary. FWIW shipping ain't cheap....so I'd have to have a deposit at least to even start on one.
They are set-up for PIAA 520 lights.

theSLEEPER
01-24-2011, 04:09 PM
$350 + shipping for a complete bumper? Or just the metal? Because if it's for a whole bumper, that's an amazing deal...

Goose
01-24-2011, 04:13 PM
Id be interested in one. A deer put a nice dent in mine and you cant even get a oem bumper for that price.

UNBROKEN
01-24-2011, 04:39 PM
I can buy the oem XL bumpers for 250 complete....just saw they upped their prices.
The price would have to be 400 plus shipping for a complete bumper...that shipping may be rough though...it's a large part as y'all know.
That doesn't include lights or paint.

Dan sold them for more IIRC but I'm a little more set-up shop wise to build them....and only making 150 bucks labor off each one is nothing. I'd do it cause it's kinda fun. My time is worth something though and a few hours fab time plus packaging and shipping time.

If I had several confirmed orders I could get them built in a week or so. I do have a regular job I have to be at every day.

If anyone is dead serious about wanting one PM me. Once I get 4 confirmed and ready to make a deposit for the core bumpers I'll let everyone know and start on them.
Here's the deal though...I'm NOT gonna lose a nickle on this from someone backing out. It's a non refundable deposit equal to my price on XL bumpers or it's not happening.

strokin6L
01-24-2011, 04:39 PM
yeah that don't seem to bad of a deal. I was thinkin around $400 or so without shipping...so that's cheaper than what i thought.

strokin6L
01-24-2011, 04:42 PM
i just don't know if i can lose my chrome bumper tho. I'm not so sure on how my truck will look with a fully painted front bumper with it starting out as an XL bumper.

imelmo
01-24-2011, 05:11 PM
Well I'll definitely take one once my truck is back from GoGo around March. I'll just pick it up from you so I can avoid shipping. :D

Yeah, M&M diesel, right next to Riata Ford. Great guys. Jeff and I have been friends for years. He is a 17 year Master Ford Tech. Last year he broke out and started his own shop in Manor. Now he has 4 guys working there, and more work than he can shake a stick at. Real good and dependable, and honest as the day is long.

I have an 03-04 bumper that is red, maybe Rico can use that one for someone and see how the lights look for an 03?
