My 96 likes to surge or jump alot. Its pretty much from 700-1,400rpm's. Only seams to be at a certan spot in my throttle but it even does it with the cruze on so I no its not the TPS.. Like a certan engine % load. Sometimes the truck idles smooth and sometimes its like it has a lope setting.. I have an elec HPOP gauge and the needle bounces when it does it.. When i put my chip in high idle sometimes the HPOP gauge will go crazy and truck idles weird and sometimes its smooth as can be. Note if I just let it jerk it will do it so hard over time that it may break something.. And ideas?
It dont do it with my ICP unpluged and seams to run way better?? Im confused..
Bump... I just got my truck going again since march.. Had it idleing today and got so sick of the lope sounds it was kinda makeing so I unpluged the ICP again and its like new.. What would cause this?? There is no oil in the ICP.

at idle(only sometimes) does it run like a big block with a HUGE HUGE HUGE cam in it? mine does that and itll go away after a lil while or sometimes i just rev it up and itll go back to smooth idle

Yeah but it does it when im driveing and rpms are around the 1200 to 1600 mark it jumps and jerks and just straight up pisses me off.. But if I unplug the ICP it runs like new. Could it be the IPR?

Mine does the same thing. I heard that the adrenaline pump will make them do it but you dont have one so i dont know but id like to.

I feel you pain, mine would lope real bad but a slow one. 500-700 rpm is what I would see.
I unpluged my ICP and now it idles great, my IPR is brand new. But for me it really only does it when the engine is cold and will eventually go away.

i get mine only once in awhile at idle at start up only. so im not worried about it yet. ive been doing some research. if you google 7.3 powerstroke IPR i found some guys talking about it on powerstroke.org. but it keep looking. let me know if you fix it aswell. im trying to see whats up with mine.
It will do it with my cruise control also.

Can you switch the ICP with a known good working one to see if yours needs changing? Sounds like if you're unplugging it doesn't the PCM revert to limp mode oil pressure tables?
