Missouri pullers

for those how don't know There is a new sanctioning group in Missouri called The show-me smokers. If the name sounds familiar a while back there was a group of guys that run around all the local pulls and called themselve the show me smokers but they kind of disappeared after a few years. a few of the original members got together and resurrected the name with this new organization. they have set up rules for 3 pulling classes, 2.4 workhorse (http://www.show-mesmokers.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=32) 2.6 modified street diesel (http://www.show-mesmokers.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=32) and 3.0 super smokers (http://www.show-mesmokers.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=32) that class may be changed a little to allow for twins the way I under stand it.
I am setting my truck up to pull in the 2.4 workhorse class
they also plan on setting up some drag race events and maybe dyno days.

If any one wants some more info or knows were they be able to come in a pull they are still looking for more to fill there schedule.
they have a website http://www.show-mesmokers.com/ it is still some what under construction.
the best place to get info on what is going on currently is there forums (http://www.show-mesmokers.com/forum/)

I know most of them from when they used to pull. I would love to pull my truck, but I couldn't afford for it to be broken down this summer. Next year I should be able to though.

I do make it to many of the pulls in Missouri though.

I think all the pulls around here have the same problem it seems there there's about 10 dodges that show up and one duramax and one ford. It dose suck and it takes a lot of the fun out of it for the people watching it, half the fun of going to pulls is routing for your favorite brand, but its hard to do when only one shows up.
I plan on pulling at every pull they have scheduled so far (as long as my truck holds together) except for the one down in your area its just to far away and I may not have it ready yet.
the ford and chevy guys are slowly starting to sign up and join there forums so hopefully they'll a good variety of trucks pulling. weather your planning on pulling or not come on over there and join the forums to let them know your interested. At this point they need all the support they can get to help them line up more pullers and pulls.

Well they at least imposed an rpm limit, that should work in your favor a little bit. They also don't say anything about a single HPOP like a pulse or stealth.

Pop on a D66 with some hybrids and a pulse and whip some ass.

side note, what about a d-max? They can't tech 2.45 stock can they?

I think they have an exception for the d-maxes and the 6.4's on the turbos.

They are going to allow me to run an H2E since it is under the 2.4.
As for oil for now I'm going to run a 17 degree pump but when I get some money saved up I may look pretty hard into a pulse, I think I going to buy hybrids first though.

I figure a good set of hybrids and an h2e should get me close to 500 with some tweaking, I don't imagine they'll be many duramaxes and cummins running too much more that that in that class anyway. My biggest problem is going to be my weight. 8500 limit sucks when your truck weighs about 6600 with you in it:doh:

I know it, mines 6800lbs with the toolbox and everything.

You'd be suprised what those 12v guys can do on a little turbo, you better have your stuff dialed in.

I wanted to bump this back up to the top.
I had a blast pulling with the smokers last year, I ended up jumping into the 2.6 class so was a little out matched at times but I still held my own. I ended up 4th in points last year and missed about 3 of the pulls so I cant complain about about how everything turned out. I have quite a few plans for the truck this year:evil so we see if I can get in the top and play with the big boys:D

I think the rules are going to stay basically the same this year other that the big class could see some changes. there has been some talk about going to some kind of 2.8 class that may allow some of the guys running twins to pull with us.

We are looking for more pulls and pullers, so if anyone is looking to start pulling this is a great group of guys. or if you know any pulls looking for a couple of diesel classes please send them our way
