hey guys since im kinda new to powerstrokes and all i thought id see what yall thought would be good upgrades for my stoker.its a 97 ext.cab 8' bed 4x4,with a 5spd manual,4.10s,3"dp to 3 1/2' stright pipe,a edge evo tuner and pyro and boost gauges.i use this truck for towing a 16' landscape trailer and i want to be able to keep using it for towin until i get another tow rig and still have enought power to beat the local ricers.whats yall opinons?

One thing you might want to do is get an intake if you don't allready. Airflo is a site sponser and he has a sweet AFE intake for our trucks. Another thing is get rid of the Edge and get a Wildman or Dp tuner chip. Then if that isn't enough get some injectors. Then you should have a grin on your face for quite some time until your stock clutch craps out. By the way Welcome to the Nation!!

Get some stage ones and a better tuner, along with some guages and clutch.

It'll boogey down.

thanks for the welcome guys,i know i hate my edge but i only paid 75 bucks for it b/c the kid who had it fried his motor b/c of too high egts for too long.i know its a bad tuner and it will soon be replaced with a wildman.as for injectors are the diys worth it or should i just throw down the cash for new or reman stage 1s? im fairly mechanical, ive never done diesel injectors but if rebuilding them is like carbs on a gas motor then i can do them.if new or reman are more reliable and powerfull which brands do you suggest? sorry to ask so many questions but i want to get it right the first time

Smoker listen to Old school, he know's his stuff when it comes to the OBS Strokers.
For intake talk to Airflow, he has a nice setup that's cheaper than the AFE stage II & does about the same thing.

old school- im located in mt.airy md,im off 70 heading towards frederick from laruel and that area.its a small town and i want to at some point have the baddest obs in the area.im tired of being killed by cummins with just tuner on them, how much you want for your injectors? and do i need the 17* hpop to run them? my trucks only got 90k on the clock so do you think the stock hpop can handle the injectors or should still go ahead and swith to the bigger one? thanks cat im going to look into the intakes

With only 90K on the clock, your injectors have lots of life in them and should be able to hold up a stage 1 mod just fine. Check with jim rose at RDS (dzljim) and he'll hook you up. With the evo, a set of stage 1s will put a smile on your face and give you some good smoke. Using the pyro, I tow with my evo on extreme (it will get pretty hot on a hill). Hold up on the hpop unless you're setting CELs. It likely won't happen with the evo.

Stage 1s and the intake-- you're good to go for awhile.

Go to NAPA and get a 4" 45 degree exhaust elbow, a hose clamp, and part number 6637 filter.

If you really want to make some power, get a set of stage 2's or hybrids and buy my turbo.

Theres a test and tune pull at the Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association on Aprl 5th, you should go.

Dont forget IDM mod. Its well worth it on the OBS. Besides, its only about $.50
