6.0 questions

I have come across a 6.0 and auto tranny complete w/ harness and computer for very cheap. What I need to know is there a vin# on it any where so that I can check to see if the truck has been stolen. (yea its that cheap) He told me it came out of a totaled f-350 '05. Also of course it is out of the truck so I cant hear it run so is there anything that I should look at to try to tell if it is any good. I'm new to all this diesel stuff so bear with me.

I know there is another section for this but has anybody heard of anyone doing a 6.0 swap into a '95 with the 7.3?

havent seen a 6oh in an OBS but i guess anything is possible.... Check the oil see whats like, run a sample on it see how it smells... check the tranny fluid see if it smells burnt....
