well just put it back in from gettin rebuilt and everything air checked good inside but it will not shift past 2nd gear. shifts great 1-2 but no 3. any ideas? thanks

Govenor? Solenoid? Shift valve? Could be a few things...

Those two are mutually exclusive. There is no trans that has a shift solenoid and a governor. The shift solenoids were designed to replace the governor.
If it's a C6, then look at a problem with the governor, vacuum modulator, shift valve, or the direct clutch.
If it's an E4OD, then it's a shift solenoid, wiring to the shift solenoid, shift valve, vehicle speed sensor, or the direct clutch.

well i tried another valve body i know was good and all the wires seem ok. it is a e4od. so sounds like its soleniod pack then? cause they said all the pistons air checked good. where is the speed sensor? would it cause this problem? o and also could it be a check ball somewhere in the wrong place? thanks alot guys
