Like a dumbazz i didnt' take any money, even when it was offered. I didn't feel right taking advantage of people when they were in a jam. I remember being stuck in the snow in my car a long long time ago and how helpless it felt. As far as the semi, the passenger side of the truck and trailer were in a ditch. We had to quit trying to pull him out after only 1 try because he was low on fuel and the truck started sputtering. He said because of the angle it wasn't picking up the fuel. It was probably a good thing because there was no way we were gonna pull him out.

I wasn't worried about that, i was very careful about where i hooked and how i pulled them out. They were all very greatful. Besides , my tag was completely covered with snow and was unreadable. If anyone would've complained i would've just driven off . I could go a lot of places those cars couldn't.

here in michigan you can get a special licsense to pull to trailers.

such has a 5th wheel and a boat, but i believe it cant be longer then a certin amount of feet. hopefully trailerhauler will chime in on that.

In AZ you can tow double if the first trailer is a GN of 5er and the second trailer must be atleast tandem axle

Very few places is it legal to pull double bumper pulls. Its legal in almost every state as long as the first trailer is a fifth wheel or a gooser. You don't neccesarily have to have a special license either, depending on what you are doing with it.

Drag Racing Photographer, I shoot alot of IHRA races, a few Pinks All outs, an NHRA divisional and National here and there, hopfully the TS Performance race this year.

I basicly shoot photos at the track, print 8x10s and run around the pits and sell them to the dravers

And also cover some of the races for 2 magazines while at them.

Yes Tampa its a load trail. Its a great trailer, but the only thing I don't like about it is it can get kinda squirly if the wrong person loads it. I'm constantly getting on to my guys when they are demoing something and load it ass heavy or directly over the tires. Other than that its a 5 year old trailer, and has paid for itself 5 times over at least.

I learned that the hard way too. I guess, technically, any trailer can be loaded wrong and made to do that tho.....dump trailers just seem to be worse about it.

My battery doesnt charge off the truck either, so I have to charge it about every 5th time I use the trailer. Im going to add a dedicated plug and wire just for power to the battery, and not use/hack into the 7 way plug wiring.

I recently got mine from a fish farmer, who used to haul totes with salt water and put all kinds of things from "the sea" in there, thats why Ive got the rust issue right now. No biggie, though......Def worth what I paid.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who's battery does not charge off the truck. I was beginning to think that my truck wiring was screwed up. Oh well, like you I'm thinking about putting a trickle charger in the box with the battery, and just plugging it in where ever its parked. Hopefully soon enough we can get a larger gooseneck dump, that would be real nice.

Another thing I learned the hard way was that if you drive a bobcat into the trailer...It'll lift the rear of the truck off the ground!

One day Im gonna add 2 tougue jacks or feet to the rear sides of the trailer to keep it from doing that.

Should do the trick.

If you get a gooseneck...you dont even have to worry about that.

Jake and I's Trucks are Twins. What is wrong with his?

It had a bad CPS and IPR at the time. Its an old picture, truck is fixed now. We think something else was wrong, cause it shot a couple fire balls out the stack and knocked realy really bad before it shut down and would not restart. Replaced those two things and it finally started and ran fine since.

My old trailer. 32', 10K loaded. My truck handles it well.

The trailer is 14 years old and still like new. To say we got our money's worth out of it is an understatement.

We ordered a new trailer on the weekend.

Yes, I change from one tune to another depending on the load. I guess this Gross Combined Weight was right around #32,000 and I towed in my economy tune, from matt at gearhead. The truck handled it excellently, I was impressed by my new tunes and ww towing this load! :ford:

Well what I was getting at was the most recent time I was loaded down real heavy with my truck was with my old tunes, and the stock turbo wheel. The most recent times I was loaded down my GCWR was right around 26,000# on cat scales give or take a few thousand on different trips. The truck pulled like crap, and surged like you wouldn't believe. The slightest grade in the road I would have to shift down to fifth to keep the turbo from surging.
I hadn't had an opportunity to tow real heavy since my new tunes and ww, and the truck handled the horse trailer at about 32K# GCWR MUCH better than the 26k#.

I'll second that! But we still have to deal with those DA's that like to slow down when a truck and trailer get behind them, then speed up when the truck and trailer get out to pass, and over and over and over again. I'd rather deal with a steep grade!

the LPG tanks were 18 wheeler trailers that they took the axles out from under & set on concrete blocks & used as stationary tanks.

will roll em across the scales tomorrow or tues & see what they weigh. the guy we were helpin scrapped one with the axles & wheels on it and it was 33,000lbs!!!

on a side note, my buddy wanted me to haul the big one cause he was afraid he'd blow somethin on his 6.0 AGAIN. GO 7.3!!!!!!!! :bowfast: :ford:

big one was 14,200, lil one was 13,600. the gin pole truck was borrowed.......HUGE cluster with that thing. took the idiots 4 HOURS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO RAISE THE POLES WITH THE WINCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wasnt my truck and I was just paid to haul the tank so i didnt say a word to them while they were fiddle fartin.

the trucks front wheels got a bit light, possibly off the ground even while liftin the big tank.

First time towing with the truck. Hauled my buddies project drag truck to Sturgis to get the chassis certified. It's a '79 dodge with a full tube chassis, 12 valve he is building (actually got it started for the first time the day before the pic), and some big sticky's :evil He's hoping for 1000 - 1200 hp.

It is a rebuild. It used to have a cab over but a tree had fell on it so when my dad bought it we tore the hard top and cab over off and put in new arches and had the Amish make a tarp. I can't remember the tag that was on the trailer but if you jar my memory I might. I have a buddy that has one identical but his has the orginal hard top.

25' low boy, enclosed that will be headed out to west virginia. cargo will have a, '76 toyota hilux powered by a 327 and a 74 porsche 912e.
im guessing itll be about 5 tons for the enclosed? trailer weighs about 2500+ and both cars weigh about 3-4000 each.

BTW, don't count yourself out just because you're completely stock. Mine was completely stock including exhaust and mine blew

Yeah, when mine went, it blew it all to heck.

6 injectors, new MLS headgaskets, ARP head studs, EGR delete, and two weeks later, my truck was fixed

Not going to get in a pissing match here, but the truck is taken care of. It does matter. Yes there are freak blowups, but something causes a pump and all 8 to go down and it usually isn't the truck's fault.

I babied my truck for the first 6 years of it's life. That's when all the crap happened. These 6.0's love to be run hard, but I wasn't very educated on them at the time. Now I run the crap out of it and haven't had a single problem LOL

But my truck has had every fluid in it (besides the transmission) changed at all the proper servicing intervals, so I would count mine in under the "freak-blowups."

I babied mine the first 15k miles of its life also. That all changed after I pulled the EGR valve out the first time to clean it and it looked terrible. Its looked pretty good the last 75k miles.

35' Sundowner 3 Horse with Mid-Tack. Loaded, it weighs about 10,000-11,000 lbs. And my truck weighs 7540, so do the math... LOL

Um, I hope you tied those safety chains a little higher ;)

Here's what I just towed home from Redding, CA to Portland, OR. GCVW of 24,200 lbs, with no air bags or weight dist hitch. Inside the trailer is the Pro-Stock diesel truck I drive (the MBRP/G&J Diesel DirtyMax), as well as all the support equipment (Rhino, tools, parts, etc). My rear tires were right at their rated limit.

It was a good trial run for when I start towing my trailer with both my gasser race cars in it (and with the camper still on). It's 4' longer, but roughly the same weight. I'll be able to use a weight distribution hitch with it, and I'll have airbags on the truck by then (ordered them for this trip but they did not arrive in time). If I can re-mount the jack farther back on the tongue, I can also tow it without a hitch extension (had a 16" extension with this one). All of this should add up to less weight on the truck's rear axle.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

Yes those chains have been put on shorter... That was the first time I hooked up the trailer. I now have them so they are almost horizontal just in case.
