dieseltec192008 01-16-2008, 01:10 PM :bowfast:what settings should i get on the f5 tuner. i have down pipe four inch. exhaust to stacks and intake. i plan on getting diy injectors stage 1 but not till summer and a valve body for the e4od trans. and i pull a stock trailer every now and then. any advice would be nice.
NyCowboy87 01-16-2008, 02:03 PM probably 60tow 80economy/tow 120race or 140agressive and deafinately high idle.
It also depends on what you want and how much weight you are pulling.

Don't you two go to the same school over in Lima?
dieseltec192008 01-16-2008, 08:01 PM yes we both go to the same school. but thanks for advice nycowboy.
Cat_Rebel 01-17-2008, 05:25 AM Maybe a 40 tow for around town, 80 ecno for just daily driving, 120 race for playing around, 140 if you really want some smoke & as said before a Hi Idle is a good setting to have! Call up Jody & Diane & sit by the mailbox! :D
dieseltec192008 01-17-2008, 11:29 AM thats what i was thinking.stock,high idle,60tow,80econ,120,140extreme.:bowfast:
Reubine 01-17-2008, 01:58 PM I would just go with the 140 extreme, there proably really isn't that much of a difference between the two. Unless you have the money then by any means get the 120. Good luck.
dieseltec192008 01-17-2008, 02:03 PM ok 120 is out. now what all do i need to support the dp tuner if i got intake exhaust gauges and a downpipe. i am thinking about a valvebody for john woods and then diy injectors from diy.com what i am asking is the truck going to be fine with the 140 extreme if i dont get the valve body and diy injectors just yet
racehauler 01-17-2008, 02:10 PM Injectors and a valvebody will mean that you need to have the chip reprogramed to work with them. That can be done but it will cost you something more than likely. If you are going to buy those items for sure then it would be much more cost effective to do it all at once or get the injectors and vlave body first, then the chip. However that plan isn't as fun because you have to wait longer to get the power from the chip :D
Reubine 01-17-2008, 02:50 PM Just get the chip and upgrade later, then you don't have to wait.

That's what I said about my transmission.
A year and a half later and still on the stock transmission :hehe:
Dieselfever 01-17-2008, 07:44 PM yes we both go to the same school. but thanks for advice nycowboy.

I have a couple of friends that go there and they should be done this spring. I went and looked at the school, but ended up going somewere else. From what I've heard and seen, it seems like a good school.
Cat_Rebel 01-18-2008, 12:28 AM I don't see anything wrong with 120 but then again most people I know don't have the 140. I think 120 will smoke & run just fine for ya. :D
slowleak 01-18-2008, 12:33 AM 120 and 140 are two completely different tunes for me. my 120 smokes, but it spools really well, locks the tq really quick, and shifts firm. the 140 just seems really laggy compared to the 120, doent shift as nice either. but the 38r cleans the hell out of the smoke
Stroked95 01-18-2008, 04:57 AM IMO, it would be best to call and talk with or PM whatever tuner you are thinking of using. Tell them exactly what you plan to do, and then let them suggest the best options for you. Right now all the gain you will see is about 70hp out of you stock injectors, so in reality a 80econ would probably be enough, however if you are getting programs in anticipation of future upgrades then that is a viable option, and talking with your tuner can help you pick the best tunes for your app. Good luck.
Reubine 01-18-2008, 02:18 PM I know with mine the number 5 and 6 position are pretty close to the same program. At least it feels that way. I was just saying that the 120 and the 140 would be close. Plus I know he is in college and he will have to pay for every setting that he chooses. But call and talk to them, it would proably be the best. Good luck.
Cat_Rebel 01-18-2008, 03:07 PM That's partly the reason why we went with the 120. I talked to Diane & she said for driving unless you had more fuel mods (Injectors,HPOP) & tranny mods that 120 would probley be better than 140 for driving around. On the other hand if you are after smoke than the 140 will do just fine! :D
