Motor Cutting Out while driving

I have a 1997 F350 Powerstroke and the engine has been cutting out while driving. This is an itermittant problem, can go days and nothing, then 3-4 times on a 20 minute drive Almost like a hiccup? Any ideas of what to look for to fix this? Have had it to shops, but no help.

A common concern for this would be the CPS for which there is currently a recall on. A later 97 truck may be part of the recall. If not this is now a days an inexpensive part that is easy to replace.

What Tom said. but also do you have a chip installed on the PCM? If so that might be working itself loose. Remove the chip, clean the contacts with an alcohol swab, install chip and secure it with clear packing tape to keep it secure.
