I GOT A 96 F250 DIESEL. I HAD AN AFTERMARKET HEAD UNIT IN MY TRUCK BUT DIDNT LIKE IT AND PUT THE ORIGINAL ONE BACK IN (ALSO AFTERMARKET). THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET IT TO TURN ON IS IF THE CONSTANT AND SWITCHED WIRES ARE SPLICED TOGETHER. THE RADIO STILL DOESNT KEEP SETTINGS SAVED ONCE I SHUT OFF MY TRUCK. ANY IDEAS? PLEASE HELP

You just have to make sure the yellow wire is tied to a constant hot wire. Just about any wire that's always hot will do.

Check your fuses. One of the wires for the radio is constantly hot unless a fuse is blown. Does your cig lighter work?

i checked all the fuses. they all good. everything thats on the same fuse as the constant on the radio works perfect. im bout to try runnin a seperate wire to a dif constant in the truck and see if that does the trick

x2 Cig lighter is usually a good spot to grab a constant 12v from.

Thanks for your help guys. I bypassed the harness and tapped the constant into my cigarette lighter.
