Scan gauge finally installed

Took all of like 5 minutes. This thing is really nice. Just plug in to the OBD and go. Monitors two things at once. Mine is currently set to engine oil temp and ICP. I think its a useful tool for sure. I'm approacing csi status now. Equivalency of 6 gauges. LOL

They are kind of handy to have at your disposal, thats for sure. I've liked having mine. I did find a list of all the Power Stroke DTC's online and print it off to stick in the jockey box, just to have on hand, so I'd know what each code was.

I loved mine so much I got one for the wifes Excursion too! Very handy! Right now my plug for AE is broken, so I have been using the scan gauge more...

Kinda hinders reading MPH over 80 or so...but the scan gauge has a MPH setting too. LOL

all you need to see is under 80...10 over or 50 over your still speeding LOL

In the past two weeks I've seen the factory speedo (which shows 8 mph slow) pegged more times than I can remember. LOL

It can also do a buzz and contribution test. I mounted mine down low since it does not dim with the dash lights although you can dim it.

Sure....depending on how you have it mounted.

Yes it can be switched. Its not vin locked.

I have mine in the same spot as yours garret. Its been a great tool and like you said, several gauges in one. One of the better investments i've made. The buzz test and contribution test are a nice tool to have as well.

And FWIW, it has a faster data rate than AE. No delay in readings. Its all live.

It's really a must have. There are hundreds of functions you can monitor and tests to run. Great mod.

Mine dims with a setting on the gauge and requires no other connections other then the obd port.

Does it have a dim function if you hook a lead to a light switch, to dim it to 50% or so? That was one thing my wife did not like. If you set it to where its easy to read during the day, its very bright at night.

When she was running mine, she would throw a hat over it...:doh:

I run mine on dimmer 3 during the day and 1 during the night.

Yes. When it is finished, it will display the AIH code.

You guys that are using the steering column pod. Did you have to trim alot off the back? I just got mine and I dont see it fitting on the column without hacking a big chunk off the back

The steering column pod I had fit perfect. Just slipped right on, under the dash

It slips under the dash part and fits great. You will have to move the shifter into first and back into park to get it on.

Mine went right on. I need to go back and use some double sided tape on the back...but its hardly moved

Anything over 80 or so mph and you cant see the needle. Dont need to be looking down at that mph anyway. :D

i have been waiting since friday for my scan gauge even though i dont have a pod for it yet, if i dont get it by tomorrow im giving terminator a call to see whats up. i cant wait to see all the parameters.

Hey Logan, your gauge is ordered. It takes 10-12 days, because they are made to order. I try to stock them, but sometimes I run out of stock as the orders come in. It will be a direct shipment from Aeroforce, so you should see it in the next few days.

They mke the same gauge for the 6.0 and all other kinds of vehicles.

I have the same gauge in the same location as PTSUPERD.
Same colors and everything.
Mine says Aeroforce, and I painted my "pod" tan to match tho.... (you should get on that Garrett....:poke:)
It looks a lil nicer painted IMO.

I never mounted my pod with the push pins or tape, so I just take the whole thing off w/ the gauge, and use it on other trucks if necessary.

I plan on doing a CCT on my next truck before I buy it....(if I can ever find one)

I like the location...I was leary at first...but after we mounted it...and I sat in the drivers seat...I liked it a lot more...

anyone have any problems doing a buzz test with theirs?

mine will not complete it for some reason.

Mine wont either........You can hear all 8 buzz.....then it says "unable to complete test" or something similer

Just got mine and can't do the buzz test or CCT either. They both say unable to finish. Everything is stock on my truck. Any fix to this issue yet?

Did you warm the truck up first for the CCT test?

Also if I remember right it will fail if you have bypassed the AIH?

Correct me if Im wrong folks but theres some mod people like to do that causes the test to not work.

Check for codes and see if theres a code for the air intake heater.

If that codes present it wont run the test from what I remember.

Warmed it up, but maybe I should take it out for a drive first. No mods, all stock. Only code was P0603 because I had the batteries disconnected the other day and I cleared it. Don't know whats wrong? Why would both tests not finish?

An early 99 running a pmt..am I in for a rude surprise if I get a scan guage?

E99 is not looking for it so no issue...

I could not tell you once you add a PMT PCM... It will be looking for it.

Some are more particular then others, I have the entire AIH deleted, and I can run the tests, but others I have worked on will not with just the wires to the element gone.
