my question is what all do i need for stage 1 upgrades. i know intake exhaust and gauges and a chip. but i want it to smoke and still have some power to boot. i plane on doing stage 1 injectors diy that is but what else do i need

I think you pretty much have it. If you wanted to get the most of the stage ones then a 17* hpop would be a good idea. Mine falls off slightly and trips the service engine light when I really get on it for a ways.

ok so what would be the best just one off of the sd. and would i need a ic or not

It would really help us if you told us what kind of truck you have & has been done to it so far.
You can get away without an intercooler but getting a stock 6.0L intercooler & doing some fabbing will help you out on cooling off the EGTs.

i have a 97 f350 4x4 with not much done yet just been saving to do it all at once and after christmas i plane on doin it all at once in two weekends just tring to get more info on all this stuff and the best setup and the best way to do it

i think that they all are. and on the fuel system side what should be donee or will the fuel system hold up to the stage 1 stuff or not

um again an electric system is better but stock will work. I still have stock fuel and oil and it does ok and im happy with it for now untill i go big oil and hybrids or b codes.

so there is alot of talk about the diy kits and i was just wondering what all the talk about machining them but what if they are still in spec do you still have to do any machining

and will a sd pump bolt right no or is it a fab thing

also what all would i need to do an ic besides the ic and the piping

an early 99 spyder or the banks twin ram. gts motorsports sells the complete kit with tubes boots and spyder

you can get the pre machined pistons from jim if you want or you can do your own if you have a surface grinder.

Nothing is ever really a perfect fit, have the angle grinder ready! :D

the only thing you have to do is machine the intensifier piston. Jim sells these already machined for 225 and you get a $50 core back when you send him your old ones. Yes a machine shop could but unless you know them it will cost you as much if not more.

However if there isnt enough clearence between the armature and the injector then the armature needs to be machined. Personally I ave done 4 trucks with these kits and never has one needed the armature machined so I wouldnt worry. But you will want to check it when you get them out just to be sure.

i have a 97 red f350 4x4 but its not here right now i am getting new tie rods on it and aligned before it comes back up but i have been thinking about leaving it down home till i get all the stage ones done to save the money for the hole deal but i live in cp 18 tho

what do you drive in with your chip 140 or 80

ok. depends mostly 140 because it is actually beter milage but i do occasionaly run on 80 around town because in 140 its just too much fun and hard on the rear tires:)

haha its just my toy i use my dads 01 daulie to pull our 30 foot horse trailer but just hot rodding my truck has a lot more. dads truck has a superchips tuner on it too.

Dieseltec. wasn't calling you a DA just saying it's alot easier to let someone else show you. I did my first set on my own and had some problems but by the 2nd set it was just like a production line.
