This was a very interesting confession of what was really going on at GM for the last 25 years of production on just about all of the makes they produced . I couldnt believe the things they were admitting to . If you guys get a chance pull this down on the web and watch the whole thing.

Was that the one where the people on the assembly line said it was normal to forget a bolt here and there?

Maybe so . The part I was watching was where they were saying that every vehicle that rolled off the line instead of going to the transport trucks went to one of two departments "major repairs" or "minor repairs ". So basically saying that every car and truck had something wrong with it . They also talked about stepping up production in one day GM went from making 50 cars per hour to making 100 . GM didnt stage up 50-60-70 . One of the funniest things I heard them say in the story was the biggest difference between toyota's assembly line and gm was toyota had a pull cord . I kept thinking what the hell are they talking about pull cord . Yes its a switch that stops the line when something is wrong with a car . You pull it the line stops , you fix the problem , the line starts up again . Instead gm's vehicles just kept rolling down and getting more half azz work done to them at another station .
