consumer reports rates them very highly in crash test ratings and reliability, my parents bought one not too long ago and love it. this was an 07 however.

I have a friend that bought one. She is really happy with it. I have ridden in it several times and it is a nice car for the money...

We had an 05 and it was a great little car. My wife ran it under the back of an suv at 35 +mph and walked away with just some bruses from the seatbelt. Imho that little car saved her life and I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
good to hear all the good reviews i definately think were gonna get one. we would both rather have the fusion but just not in the budget the way i want it. so the focus it is, especially with all the rebates and cash for clunkers $$

This coming from a guy who rolls in a Tercel.
My sister just bought a Focus, I think its an 07. It gets the job done. Not a bad looking little commuter car.

Only problem I would have (well two actually).
1. Getting in and out of a car is a pain in the back. Seriously.
2. I get skeered looking up at every vehicle on the road. I really hate always looking sideways at tires.

Andy you get used to it esp. when you can out manuever most of the chit running around .
My B is nice in that you can easily get in and out of it ,its rather roomy inside too.
