3.55s only for SRW F-350

I was at the dealership pricing out a 2010 and when we got to final gearing I was told that 3.55 open gears were all that was available for an F-350 SRW 6.4. I find this hard to believe as we are talking about a work truck designed to pull a load daily if needed. Has anyone else seen or heard anything contrary to this?

On the build your truck page of Ford's site:

3.73 Limited slip is standard
3.55 open and LS is optional

Everything else is dictated to a dually or long bed.

2010 is the new engine though isnt it?

even though you can build it with3.73's online u cannot order it
your dealer is right only option is 3.55 or 3.55ls
that's what i had to order in mine. Called arround to different dealers as well to make shure the dealer wasn't fos. all said the same thing.

Yea, the new trucks all have 3.55's in them. But it surprises me that a F-350 would. I just figured you could only get 3.55's in a F-250. They are doing it for the fuel mileage
