what a difference

So I have a 95 4x4 extended cab auto 366XXX miles and just made a CAI with ABS pipe and a napa filter changed oil (crank case and hpop) fuel filter with removing spring and plunger and what a difference. Still need injectors and tunes but I'm into this thing for 1500.00 bucks and just a CAI made a huge gain on the power.
What my question is do you have to mold the fire wall for a down pipe? Or will it fit without cutting and pushing the firewall back?
Thanks for the info on the CAI
75.00 and more power I could not beleive it

Some have had to cut and bend the pinch weld others like myself have just had to "massage" the pinch weld alittle with a prybar. Just put mine back together and nothing rubs or viberates.

I have a 2-piece Dp and it helped I think. I pushed and pryed with a 2X4 and iron rod and finally found out what was really blocking me initially was the heatshield against the body in 1 spot. I pushed it back and it slid right in. I spent an hr pushing and prying on the body for no real need. It has helped acceleration/power, lower temps, little better fuel economy.

say wha???

you've just reduced your fuel pressure...the spring and pressure regulates the pressure on the return. Removing them lets your fuel pressure dump back to the tank, check your fuel pressure on the Schrader valve.

The popular BB mod adds a spacer to the spring, effectively making the spring stronger. This raises the fuel pressure.

go here Diesel Technician Society (http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/articles/article-06-08.php) and download the 94-98 Direct Injection Turbocharged Diesel publication (I know its 39 Meg, but its free) and read how the fuel system works. Page 42 shows the diagram of the fuel system with some notes explaining it.

You're both talking about differant parts of the fuel bowl. fatboy95 was saying that he removed the spring and ball that stop the fuel flow when there is no filter installed. It's inside in the center of the fuel bowl. Nashvillebill is talking about the spring on the side of the fuel bowl that's for the fuel pressure regulator.
