Exhaust backpressure sensor line

So i was starting my truck today and noticed that the line that runs from the exhaust manifold to the ebs has broke right under the sensor. What does this dump pos do anyways. Whats the best way to replace the line. What will happen if i just leave the damn thing alone

Probably throw a code, mine broke into and just got a compression fitting to fit over the line and get plumbed up to the sensor. I think Pure Diesel Power has a replacement if you want a new one. I didn't run it without it hooked up.

I did a good bit of testing on the EBPS a few years ago using the sensor itself reading exhaust backpressure as it should, with it reading info from a fixed resistor and with it unplugged.

Right now mine is laying in the valley unplugged, but I will not tell you why and if you ask I will throw a fit.

Cry baby, you still hung up on Steve Cole.....LOL

So now its "MY name is Charles and I said so"

MY EBPS has been in the valley for around ohhhhhh 6years+...on all of my current and ex-psd's

What the hell good is it for then? Do you loose/gain anything from being unhooked? I thought it messed with your fuel?

The EBP sensor can "limit" fueling if not programmed around.....

Oh i see, so tell me this, is it doing any hurt or help broke off? I pull some pretty heavy loads with this truck at high altitudes.

1. Get a EBP sensor code eliminator (http://www.puredieselpower.com/catalog/73l-ford-exhaust-backpressure-sensor-code-eliminator-p0478-p-107.html) and plug it into the harness in place of the EBP sensor.

2. Remove that rusty POS tube from the exhaust manifold. Plug the hole with a threaded pipe plug. Throw rusty, holey POS tube in trash.

3. UNPLUG WIRE FROM TURBO PEDESTAL If you don't do that, the EBPV will not open until your engine is warmed up. In other words, it will run like a sick dog until then.

why waste any money, just let the sensor read atmospheric air pressure?

THATS FREE.
