Rough Country Sus lift opinions

I have run their lifts on a few of my Jeeps with success. Didn't know how their springs held up on the bigger trucks. I've got a 250 standard cab, 4x4.
Any opinions would be helpful. Looking for around 4in to fit 35's

I have a 4" rough country on my PSD and I put one on my old 93 351, I have 315s under mine Im sure you could clear 35s, cant beat the price. Its a rough ride, if I had to do it over again I wouldve left it at an add-a-leaf kit but thats just because Im tired of climbing in and out of it.

i got a 4" superlift it's not bad on the bumps but when you hit a washout goin cross country you'd wish they were stiffer!

roughcountry lift kits are made by superlift. most of the kits i get have superlift stickers on them.

Hows the other OBS kits out there for ride quality? I've been trying to decide on the kits myself...the same setup as mentioned above (4" on 35's)

Any lift for a OBS will suck its just the front spring thats the problem. Doesn't matter where you get the springs or if it just a RS kit lift. The only way to lift and have a good ridding truck is using a RS kit and SD frt and rear springs. lots of posts on this or contact me, I came up with this 7-8 years ago and hundreds have done this mod I would suspect by now. I can get you everything you need and provide phone support.

Min lift is aprox 4" with V codes I have had one customer use Excursion springs to just have a 3" lift+- and a softer ride quality..so far he loves that combo. You could also use these codes that would varrie the front lift height:
S — 2C34-5310-AAB, 4,000 lb.
T — 2C34-5310-ABB, 4,400 lb.
U — 2C34-5310-ACB, 4,800 lb.
V — 2C34-5310-ADB, 5,200 lb.
W — 2C34-5310-AEA, 5,600 lb.
X — 2C34-5310-AFA, 6,000 lb.

They are 2 diffrent companys. I like the tuff country on my buddy's truck, drove it over the bumps & pot holes of MI then 1500 miles to Texas & it rides pretty good. Then again he also swapped a Dana 60 in the front at the same time.

Stand by my statement all OSB lift kits ride quality will suck IMO without SD springs. ..I sell everything to install SD springs in a OSB..with a D60.

What about those of us that have a Dana 60 & want to run SD springs without a RS lift? I want to keep it as it sits right now, level or slightly lower in the front.

Cat just to add to this question how large of block do you have in back.

I have no block in the rear, just 11 F450 leaf springs. I want to say it sits about how it did before + maybe 1.5"-2" in the back.

Back with the TTB & 2 leafs it had the raked affect & rode like sh!t-

Now with the 60 & 3 leafs off a 95 F250 Diesel it sits level even with the weight of the engine & bumper but is a bouncy ride-

If I still had 4.10s lifting it 3" & going to 35s wouldn't be a big deal. But right now it has 3.55s so I'm stuck with a 33" max tire & I don't need a lift to clear that. My buddy & i talked about taking plate steel & building our own hanger of sorts but I donno.

It could be done but you would need to fab all. You need to french in the rear shackle mount like a SD and build a hanger for the front.

If someone could build a kit I'm sure it would sell, not everyone wants a lift. Alot of us just want a smoother ride.

What would you guys recommend if I wanted to level mine and I still have that POS they call TTB? I dont have the money right now to do a D60 swap. Do they make kits? (I havent been able to find any)

Thanks man, I'll look into that. Do OBS's ride better with a leveling kit? How'd you find those F450 springs btw...are they from a F Super Duty?

No my springs & brackets came off a 05 F450, unless your building a hauler or a puller don't get em.

O Ok, I've been playing with the idea of upgrading my rear springs for something a little stiffer. And at the same time upgrading the front, but I suppose for the real upgrades I'll have to wait till I put a D60 in.

They have a very stiff ride even with a steel flatbed on the back. If you can pony up the coin & do a 60 swap you won't regret it.

Just my two cents but listen to Cary (OBSWIZ)...He REALLY knows what he's talking about. I just spent two days at his shop installing a D60 with RSK and SD springs....The ride is incredible! I didn't think this truck could ride this well or anywhere even close to it. I had a 4" rancho kit on it before this swap and it was just stiff as you know what. If you're thinking about doing a swap get in touch with Cary, he has everything you'll need and at a good price.

I have the same question I want to lift my 1997 F-250 7.3l I see the rough country lift and the price but I also found the RSK Sky lift 3'' and a 5'' but that isnt a complete lift I dont know what I would need to do it so baiscly I am looking for a complete coast for a complete lift with the shackle reverse kit from RSK Sky anyone do that yet with there truck so you can give me an idea thanks.

Crewdog.....shoot OBSWIZ (Cary) a pm he will be able to assist you.

Did the swap to SD springs front and rear, velvet rides on the back. As well as front and rear F350 anti sway bars with the poly bushings........nice....real nice ride and handles awesome...

Handling and comfort is a combination of spring selection, shock selection-valving and available travel. Without travel a truck cannot provide a quality ride so this will require some lift.

The f250's have no travel at all, all they do is twist on the shackle and bottom out constantly, I won't sell RS kits or lift kits for them. I'll sell you Bilsteins which at least are a quality shock.

IMO any $$ spent on a D50 suspension is a total waste of $$ The design can never provide a quality ride.

The F350 has some travel stock but the axle is offset on the spring which is the main problem with their ride quality...but this can be solved.

I developed the RS kit V code swap to get a better ride from my truck as at the time I was driving 30k a year and was being beat to death..thats even with a D60 RS kit. Without the correct springs..SD's, IMO its not even worth doing.

Anyone needing help, parts or info to do this correctly please PM me.
