My engine temp gauge quit workin. Replaced the sender, that weren't the problem. What's the deal with replacing the super duty gauge, gotta replace the whole instrument cluster or can just one gauge be replaced like the older trucks??

The whole thing has to go... unless you want to pay someone to go thru it and trace it down...

Is it just me or is this as excuse to add more gauges.... :D
The stocker didn't have numbers anyway. Don't know what gauges you have now but I would start yourself another pod. water temp, fuel press, and ICP.

Aw come on guys, that's not what I wanted to hear:poke: Oh well, just got given a nice instrument cluster, just have to go pull it out of the donor truck:D Hope I can save my silver dash face.
I think I'll add some more gauges too, like I don't have enough already:rolleyes:CSI, I wish Autometer made a HPOP gauge. After the attitude ISSPRO gave me years ago on a pyrometer that went bad I just can't use them anymore.:(

Try them again... differant company now... Autometer will not build one because it wont work for the ricer club...

Might could do that when the HPOP gauge becomes available. They had an attitude with me years ago when they said "our pyrometers NEVER break" and would not replace a gauge that was supposedly under warranty..but the place I purchased from replaced it for me.
Might have to add an overhead pod, how's everyone that has one like the fit and usability of the overhead pod??

The fit on the overhead was good, other than my mirror was mounted too high from the factory so I had to move it. No big deal really.
It takes a bit more head movement to read the gauges compared to the A-pillar, but I don' t like A-pillar gauges myself. The pillar is already wide enough. The overhead was the next best thing. It's still very easy to see, don't block any usable view and was no more difficult to install than an Pillar pod is.

I would check the wiring first. Unless of course a dead gauge is a common problem?

I have a early 1999 7.3 I have changed the exhaust flang to a back presure butterfly delete and a new pedistal without the actuator in it and the noise is still there I have no exhaust leaks that I can see. Just to note I have the smaller early 99 turbo with 4 bolts on the compressor housing. the only thing I didnt change was the y pipe gaskets for the exhaust intake to the turbo because they didnt have any soot on them and didnt was to disturb the seal what in the world could it be?

I dunno maybe the up pipes?
Also you might get more help if you start a new thread instead of tagging on to a five year old thread about guages.
