Alright. Im about to get the spartan just would like to get some real facts before the purchase. The question is how many people have the dasdaq with the spartan tunes, What tunes,(150,210,250etc..) and if so what problems are you facing.. i dont care about the warrenty issue just want to know if it is going to F it up.. I spoke to John over a Cobbs and he seems like a nice guy and he said he recommends this product. i also heard matt from spartan is a good guy but is there any problems with there products. Any long term affect you are facing or think you will be facing. I appreciate the info.

Reall all i want is to not break the truck and beat the Piss out of my buddy's duramax with the banks setup.. he keeps telling me to get the banks setup for the 6.4 I dont wanna get talked into getting the banks so i need some influeance to get the spartan.

I would also consider a custom tuned SCT from Innovative Diesel Performance..some big things happening with that tuner.. it already did 538/11XX with a tuner and DPF delete alone.

I would recomned Spartan i have run it for more than 30,000 miles on my truck and not one single problem to date. I have the 75,150,210,and 275 tunes. The Dash Daque is an awsome unit, is easy to use and slick looking. As long as you are not doing retarded things with the truck and minitor your egt's you will be fine. The downfall to SCT is the livewire.

:bow:Spartan.
I have not had mine as long as some of these other guys, but for the period of time I have had it, I love it. No issues yet. Been running the Spartan 275.

I've done 3 or 4 customer's trucks with spartan dash daq and dpf delete. All are happy with the results. Longest is going on about 6 months though. 210 hp tune seems to be the most fuel efficient on the trucks I've done.

What kind of fuel efficiency are you seeing?

worst unloaded is 17 mpg on one truck with 35's and a lead foot. best is older guy with 285's and light foot averaging 20-22. He even pulled a 27 mpg tank a while back. I posted it as http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18479
They're averaging as low as 5 mpg less while towing heavy.

no $hit...but, the good news is, the livewire will be a thing of the past this week..SCT just released the TSX ... nice looking unit...ive got one coming as soon as eric get them in his hands.

pahrump...do you have any data yet on the spartan vs the sct ? i would love to know.

I just loaded my new tune from Eric about 5 mins ago...I will drive it tomorrow and put some miles...then romp it.

And I rounded up some smaller tires...skinnier..my 15.50s wont fit on this bitch ass dyno here local, so I will dyno them back to back in a week along with nitrous...and track times in a couple weeks.

Might end up going to the TS Outlaw event.

cool. cant wait to see the results. my guess is, the power wont be much different, but the driveability might be. see you at TS ..but i'm flying in.

just to add, as far as the banks system goes. a rep from banks called me up last wed. and told me about their tuner that just came out.
from what he told me 110 to 120 hp and lil over 200 on the torque. mileage improved about 2 to 3 miles to the gallon, dont know if its highway or street.
this is their six gun tuner and also may i add, the pda has to be purchased seperately.

you know, their reps have a "call sheet" ...basically anytime they run a special or, need an "end of the month" quota..they make calls. i used to get those calls to..thats kinda what got me into the performance game, cuz i almost bought their quickspool housing for the stock 7.3 turbo..that was back in 03' .

I think you'll be quite disappointed with banks compared to Spartan or Innovative.

i agree, i have the exhaust and intake. being that the dpf is still hanging around, i cant tell a diff. the exhaust was more of a cosmetic thing and the intake was for when i get rid of the dpf and get a tuner.

planning on the spartan dashdaq. once the irs takes their friggin cut and i finally get my tax return, ill be a happy man:D

Its going to be close to equivalent of the DashDaq just more costly once you get it setup for the 6.4L. You will have to purchase a $300 off-road license on top of the $1100 cost of the TSX then add your custom tunes of $150 per tune from innovative.....

You can get a dashdaq for around $600 or so I think without the license...the auto maker license is like $99 from drew tech

Just like the POS livewire unless you buy a "off-road" tuner its a $300 upgrade and from the way I understand it the $300 upgrade will be on top of the $1189 sticker price. The spartan is $1249.99 and includes 3 custom tunes.

I dont think he wants the SPARTAN tunes he wants it for monitoring.

And as I said you can buy a DashDaq off Egay for $550-650...I honestly am not sure what PID's on the ford you can monitor without the FORD license form drewtech, but for $99 you can monitor every available PID on ANY FORD vehicle that has an ODBII port

eric said he has a few dash daq's ..and if the TSX is way outta reason on the price i will buy a dashdaq, with the license... im sure i could sell the livewire if needbe..i dont really feel like having over 2k in 2 tuners... as for the spartan tunes...i would love to try them..im not against anything..i was kinda hoping for pahrump to give some feedback, when he can.

I have been looking on ebay and i haven't found one for 650.. The ones i do see are over 1200 bucks.. and by the way what is the license and why do you need it..

hey bigpowr your talking about eric from innovation right?

yes..eric from innovative.

Eric cant load his tunes via the DashDaq though, unless something new has popped up..so you will still need yoru livewire to load the tunes.

As for a DashDaq...well here...remember, if you are using it for gauges only you dont have to buy the tunes...you just need a dashdaq unit.

$535 shipped to your door.

IMO its worth it...you can monitor things so well with it once you download the right skin...its super easy to keep an eye on EGT, FRP, Trans Temp, EOT, Boost...and more if you want...worth every bit of $500 over buying multiple gauges...and I wont even think about keeping that sct crapper in my truck, sorry but its a piece.

im just gonna wait and see how much the TSX is..then most likely sell my livewire...as long as the TSX turns out to be as good as billed. but yes the livewire is a turd.

Pahrump
03-12-2009, 01:21 AM
Yeah the TSX looks nice, and I would bet its about the same price as the DashDaq....BUT to use it for tuning, I would imagine that it would end up more money...if you were going to keep the livewire for tuning, and use the TSX for gauges probably work out to be about the same as the dashdaq and then when you got ready to use it for tuning you could just ante up.

ok got it. license is for tunes. Sounds good. I looked at eric's site and the dasdaq wasen't a option on his site when it came to programmer;s.. i talked to john from cobbs and he will have them in today somtime he said.(like i said he sounded like a good guy) .. Well i will be ordering my spartan manana. with the dpf delete pipe. I appreciate all the feedback greatly.

Ive spoken with him and yes he does want the Spartan tuning so he has to purchase it from Spartan or a Authorized Distributor. I have plain DashDaqs piled up to my butthole for $549.99 but they aren't what he wants......

OK, yeah I seen on his post that he said he would like to try Spartans tuning.

However....you CAN buy the license from Spartan and the tunes...its all loaded on the SD card...or downloaded into the DD unit...and ANY DD will work.

You could buy a used one..not that I have seen many/any

Send the man above you a PM...Cobbs...hes a dickhead..LOL...J/K....well not really...but can get you the tune you want in 24 hours I bet.
