Hartdiesel 02-17-2009, 04:37 PM I work for the fire dept and we have 6.4s in our new ambulances. Yesterday a coworker was driving and all the sudden it lost power and made no noise when it did so. Now it wont build more than 10lbs of boost??? Anyone have a clue?????

Hartdiesel 02-18-2009, 03:12 AM well just talked to the mechanic and we got our ambulance back and the only code it through were MAF codes. He took the air filter out and MAF out and blew both of them out problem solved. WIERD:confused:

if its 08 e series it may still have a 6.0 and not a 6.4. ford goes by the rv specs. and heard that they couldn't fit the 6.4 in the frame on the e series. i may be wrong but that is what i was told.
Hartdiesel 02-19-2009, 03:30 PM No the truck is built on a f450 chassis its a 6.4l. And come to find out we put the ambulance back in service and it happend again yesterday!!!:doh: Hopefully ford can figure it out still under warrenty. My best guess is just a new mass air flow sensor.

I thought when you put an ambulance body on a truck it voided all warranty?
69W900A 02-26-2009, 03:06 AM If you put an ambulance on a truck that does NOT have the almbulance PACKAGE it will void the warranty.
You must order the cabchassis specifically for ambulance useage.
That's correct, the 6.4 doesn't fit in the E series currently.

Hartdiesel 03-09-2009, 11:52 PM So new update on our problem.... Got the ambulance back from ford last week and after further investigation they discovered the problem not to be the MAF but insted a faulty EGR and wierd thing is our check engine light came on today but loss of power????????:shrug:
