This coming from the person that doesn't even want a tuner for his 6.0?

I'm going to take a wild ass guess and say that you're going to pay someone else to do the work. What kind of power you going for? Why the Allison?

It will vary from 10K up to 30K depending on mods you do, whether or not you do the labor, etc.

dont waste your money on an allison.

Use a built 4R100 with a PCS trans controller.

Unbroken has done the same swap, except is an 04. All depends how much you want to spend.

And I believe Rich is running a built 48RE trans behind his instead of a 4R100 or 5R110...

ya at destroked.com they sell everything. you can even keep your tranny and upgrade it. all you need is the engine which you can sometimes find cheap. i almost got a wrecked 03 cummins for $1000. somebody beat me to it lol.

You don;t want a 5R110 behind a Cummins...unless maybe the Cummins stays stone stock.
Even then....I've been reading about issues setting it up to work right with the PCS.
They may have a handle on it by now though....but still..I wouldn't chance it.

The 5R110 will never handle the torque of a modified Cummins. Even at the hp levels that a mildly modded Cummins makes, they are having trouble keeping the 5R110 together and that's at way lower torque levels for comparable hp.

No you jackass. me,my grandpa and my brother would put it in. they just wanted me to get a base price on a engine and tranny. im goin 4 450 rwhp and i heard that Allisons are great tranny's...they use them in the U.S army tanks

It may be an Allison in a tank, but it's not even close to what's in a pickup. In many ways, the Allison is not superior to a Ford transmission. It's pretty rare that you see somebody actually WANT to use an Allison in a high hp application.

Yeah, it's the same one in the tanks so it will last forever.

Okay bud, simmer down...

For 450 RWHP I have to ask WHY you would want to put a CR in...with a little bit of work, very little other than a tuner, really, you can have 450 RWHP.

If you do decide to do it, you're probably better off just getting the 48RE trans from behind the CR and building it. Allison transmissions are expensive as hell to build, and not the easiest thing to control away from their Duramax counterpart.

Just my opinion.

If you truly want a cr and a allison you will be into it for about 10-15k to by the the engine and trans, parts to swap and then you will have pretty much stock stuff. To do that swap and have big time hp you willl mor then likly be closer to 30k, could do it less but just tryin to keep it real. The Allison swap makes it real exspensive. I just did a VP swap into a 05 and kept the 5r. The vp was around 400hp, the 5r was a pain to program but after about 4 hrs it was shiftin like a caddy. How long it will last, no idea but it sure shifted good.
