I have just bought a used hypermax turbo kit. There is a little play in the bearing I need to rebuild it. I am having trouble finding a kit for my turbo its a Garrett And I have the part and serial numbers. Part# 465124 5004 And the serial# SL 0157 R . And does anyone know of a turbo rebuilding shop around the boston area. I have never done a rebuild on a turbo before but I heard that its a pretty straight forward job. Thanks

Not sure what model Garrett the hypermax is, could call Hypermax & ask them since they still make it. Then get ahold of a Garrett dealer & order a rebuild kit. Rebuilding a turbo isn't to hard if you have a general understanding of wrenching on trucks & engines. If you are scared to do it yourself then see who is around your area that can help. I'm sure there is someone from here by your area that can lend a hand.

I e-mailed hypermax and a few other places witht the info so hopefully I will get some answers on what kind of turbo I have. Also I am going to do the rebuild myself I always wanted to open on of these things up. I will be a straight forward job. The Only one problem is getting a rebuild kit :doh::mad:
