What kind of oil change intervals are you guys getting with an oil bypass system? Also, what kind do you guys run?

I change oil every 5000 miles. I use a bypass filtration setup just because I like clean oil. FS-2500 is what I have. Around $400. Oilgard setup is around $200. Guys on TDS like both of them. You can google both of them for info.

I also have the FS-2500 and after 15,000 miles on Delvac 1, you can still see through the dipstick like the first day it was put in.

I change the engine oil filter every 5,000 miles and take a oil sample, and usually change the oil out at 20,000 unless the sample comes back with something wrong. The last sample had the comment that this oil looked like most oils at 5000 miles. I always do a TBN (checks the additive package) sample, and watch for silicon and water/anti-freeze.

I always use the oil filter and fuel filter from International and Delvac 1. Delvac 1 is the equivelant of Mobil 1 for gas engines, but formulated for heavy diesel use.

The new 15 ppm diesel has the advantage of productiing less soot, making extended oil changes much more feasible.

Never should you do extended oil use without a Oil Sampling program that looks at the TBN number.

Cool, that's kinda what I was looking at...I'm trying to get it so I can replace my fuel filter with my oil at the same time....Just easier to remember for me.

I think Blackstone was the place that does oil samples, correct?

Blackstone Labs is what I use.
