kainers 09-26-2007, 02:03 AM X5 I would buy right now have always wanted to buy.
Why won't the stocker with the baffles fit?Isn't there a pube hair of wiggle room?

Just a red one
Oh and X6
OptimusStroke 09-26-2007, 04:32 PM x7, except I was supposed to be no.2 in line after Joey (over a year ago).
Now I already went and got my up-pipes ceramic coated and shaved the turbo mount. Currently there are no leaks (knock, knock on wood).
As soon as I have an exhaust manifold issue, I might have to have a set of those headers. They sure look good David.
Have you guys done a back to back test on the rollers to see what improvements were made in performance over the oem manifolds?
Aljay 09-26-2007, 05:47 PM My upps are starting to leak I just replaced gaskets and one pipe last Dec. while doing the trans. Going to try to tighten them up for now. Seems to me that the stockers would be better as far as keeping the heat and putting it to good use.
Deerezilla 09-27-2007, 03:35 AM David them up pipes do you have more room with them? or less with them compared to the stock sd up pipes.

Rroom where?
up top where the cast iron collector was opens up nicely.
fbilly420 09-27-2007, 05:48 PM is the flex pipe on there better than the INT. version with the bellows or what? That is a huge jump in price.
QtrHorse 09-28-2007, 12:34 AM David's is only $45 more for the ceramic set and I bet he would ship them for free.:poke:

never hurts to ask;)
TerminatorEngineering 09-28-2007, 03:56 AM I'll bet they will fit my OBS!
BTW guys, I get the first set of the Hypermax replacements, so get in line!
imelmo 09-28-2007, 07:25 PM Have you guys done a back to back test on the rollers to see what improvements were made in performance over the oem manifolds?
Odds are you wouldn't see much in peak performance. Curve would probably flatten out some though. The headers are more designed for quicker spool-up and lower egt's, both of which they do nicely. Plus they look and sound cool!:D
Stroked95 09-28-2007, 10:13 PM Rroom where?

Not sure but I think Deere is asking if there is any clearance issues around the bellows section of the up pipe. At least thats the way I understood him?
fuzzys69 10-05-2007, 12:18 AM whats the easiest way to install the uppipes?
Stroked95 10-05-2007, 05:23 AM after you take the stock ones out:D
Powerstroke Racer 10-05-2007, 02:31 PM whats the easiest way to install the uppipes?Remove the old ones and the downpipe and they slip right into place.

Strictly Diesel 10-17-2007, 09:13 PM Kevin...that last picture is a good one. I think you caught the guy from Pinnacle Power Exhaust (maker of the other 7.3L headers shown at Houston) checking out his competition. I think it's fair to say that there was NO comparison, two completely different leagues!
cowboy_dan 10-17-2007, 09:18 PM What do those of us OBS guys do that want headers & H2E?

In what way are they different Dennis?
I did not get a chance to walk around the vendor alley.
Strictly Diesel 10-17-2007, 09:36 PM Lets just say that the BAE headers are MUCH higher quality. Maybe Kevin got a picture of the others he can post?
Big K 10-17-2007, 09:50 PM Yea, The BAE ones looked like a TOP NOTCH product for sure. All the welds looked Amazing.
VERY NICE for Sure :D

That guy at pinnacle was cool to talk to ,I asked about a dual kit for an OBS and he told me that it was in the works. I conveyed the wanting to keep the spare under the truck and he said all his dual kits allowed the spare to stay under the truck.
Strictly Diesel 10-18-2007, 01:46 AM Diamond Eye already makes a Dual Kit for the OBS. I'm not aware of there being any clearance problems with the spare on that kit either.

Thanks for the link Dennis. I will look at it I want to be able to haze out of both sides. :D
Strictly Diesel 10-18-2007, 01:53 AM I stand corrected...step 7..."remove the spare tire and spare tire hanger brackets." I don't see any "reinstall" instructions...sorry.

No problem thats why we research before we buy right. I was going to get the muffler from a flo-pro kit but it never panned out as I could not get a drivers side tail pipe or find the bends to match up with what I have . I have not given up just kinda pressed for time as of late.

You wouldn't happen to offer that in down pipe back would you:poke:
THEDIESELMAN 10-18-2007, 02:23 AM What is the price on the BAE headers and do they have a site

I don't understand why people want headers on these things? Zane has stock manifolds on the wop truck.
THEDIESELMAN 10-18-2007, 02:28 AM I don't want any just want to know how much they are.
Aljay 10-18-2007, 02:30 AM I don't want any just want to know how much they are.
I can't recall I even walked right by those things.

If you drove one of our trucks that does have headers you would understand.
121-123 vs 128.98.
twins, nos and water/meth injection vs 1 turbo and nos, do the math;)

Dave I might could see it on a full race set up but I have seen a few on dailys. I was of the impression keeping the heat were it could do some good was jam up?

Thats right keep the heat at the turbine inlet;);)
they actually work better on a street setup than a race setup.
Go look at the vid from last year when I blew up.
Lit the first stage at idle, let Joe get spooled and light the second bulb, I then rolled into to the second beam and left on a pro tree!!
I have not seen anyone else be able to do that with other combos;)
Aljay 10-18-2007, 02:41 AM I have a dual pupose mind so headers on a daily are out of the question:doh:. Ok my stang has a home brewed turbo kit and yes I will fess up it has a set of fliped tubular shortys. :D
THEDIESELMAN 10-18-2007, 02:43 AM David if BAE headers are the same as yours who designed them was it you or them and do you know the price on the BAE headers.

Nope, only "turbo back".
Stroked95 10-18-2007, 04:22 AM Nope, only "turbo back".
Thanks for the info Dennis
PSR-What do the headers hit on an OBS the frame rail? A little of everything?
