Hey guys, with the fuel prices driving down prices, I figured it'd be a good time to pick up another Excursion. Wife wasn't so excited, we don't need it. I agreed, It ain't got anything to do with need, it's just fun!
So since I can't get any support at home, I figured this would be a good place to share.
I'm thinking this thing is a good candidate for a Cummins, we'll see. I'd kinda like a 6 door, so we'll see the future brings.
I haven't picked it up yet, but I'll try to post a picture.

If you don't need it in any way, then why buy it?.

I think if your looking for a Cummins swap Ex you would be better off trying to find a 7.3L or 6.0L with a blown engine. That way it's already a Diesel to begin with.

I'm picking it up because I thought it'd be fun. Always wanted a lifted vehicle, but never wanted to ruin our current X in case it wasn't practical, for towing & mileage for trips, etc... Plus there are times in the winter when a gasser would be nice for short runs. I hate starting a diesel in the winter just to turn it off again. Our Excursion has a hard time staying warm in extreme cold (even on high idle) because the rear heater acts like a second radiator to cool the engine.
I've been thinking about installing a shut off valve to the rear heater lines for those situations.
Yeah a Diesel swap would be easier with a current diesel, but the v10's are going really cheap, so this way I'm not worried about losing too much money if I decide to sell it, because I really don't know how much I'm going to use it.
I've also thinking about making a it a convertible for lake cruzing, but that would be another year away once I decide it's fate.
