im planning on running a 41401 and i see on your website that you recommend a 75 micron filter before the pump, i planned on using a 10 micron fuel water seperator filter from CAT that flows a hundred gallons a hour, i guess i dont understand why it has to be such a large micron rating, i wouldnt think it would matter on the micron rating as long as it wasnt creating to much of a vacuum on the inlet side of the pump, thanks for your help

You want as little of an inlet restriction as possible (not just with our pump- the same goes for all pumps). A 75 micron pre-filter takes care of the debris that could potentiall damage the pump. Anything smaller than that is of no real concern to the pump internals.

At what PSI is that CAT unit rated at? Is it meant to be used pre-pump?

its used for a pre pump filter on most of the cat engines i work on but there using a gear type transfer pump thats way more forgiving then a electric pump and can pull eight feet of head, if your product is good with only 75 micron of filtration im good with that, i would like a spin on type filter can you recommend any at 75 micron
