donzimama 06-01-2011, 08:25 PM What a slow week eating away day by day as parts trickle in the mail like christmas packages on Xmas morning. Will be tearing the truck down over the weekend and doing a few things...
Going to be switching the cold side plastic ic pipe to solid aluminum
Warren Diesel 225 150s
Bullseye Billet batmowheel s366 with a 68 turbine and a .88 open housing
Turbonetics s300 pedestal and t4 vband adapter (thanks again to Rudys and tubonetics, couldn't do this without you)
Air dog 2
Regulated return
Coolant byPass
Going to do a retourque on ol trusty arps
Got a full parts room and a lot in the mail on the way, will get some batmowheel pics later this week....have some very conservative tuning ob the way to help maintain as much icp as possible...
Cant wait to get started.... Will have many updates to come in the next week.
Dustball8504 06-01-2011, 08:35 PM :rockwoot:
And that sums it up, can't wait to see it hit the rollers! 225s with 150% should flow pretty good!
FX4 F2-Fifty 06-01-2011, 09:33 PM I cant wait to see how that charger does. :bowfast:
I want one.:evil
Sounds like its going to be a sweet combo
Silverback 06-01-2011, 10:33 PM Definitely sounds like a setup that will perform..but will it work on the street? Hmmmmmm
Good luck and keep us posted
Craig@MPD 06-02-2011, 12:32 AM Should have did 100% nozzles you will be lucky to hold 2500psi oil pressure with 150 nozzles
A good injector with the piston cut down and 150% nozzle will flow around 285cc on the bench
They will be good nitrous sticks
donzimama 06-02-2011, 01:36 AM Only 2500? Lol. Must be doing something right.
07_powerstroke 06-02-2011, 01:44 AM Subscribed!
CanadianRedneck 06-02-2011, 04:35 AM Sounds like it should be a fun truck for sure. Good luck on the build dude!
donzimama 06-02-2011, 01:30 PM Conservative tunes are in, turbo and injectors will be here Saturday, tearing down sunday
powerstrokedkid87 06-02-2011, 01:37 PM would you hurry up and tear(carefully) my new turbo off that truck haha...sounds like an awsome build...soon as i get my act together and start mine i am for sure starting a build thread.....
RocknRoll 06-02-2011, 03:58 PM That's a pretty impressive parts list, will be cool to see it progress and see it in action!:evil
pizza pig 06-02-2011, 09:39 PM get goin on this im very anxious to see the final setup
RescueF250 06-03-2011, 12:41 AM Agreed with Craig. She'll flow hope it runs good.
Silverback 06-03-2011, 02:22 AM you have a tranny in the works for this thing? Just wondering
donzimama 06-03-2011, 03:21 AM Twisted knows Ill be there soon....
mike b 06-03-2011, 03:39 AM Your stock trans is going to hate you lol.. and your ic pipe is shipped. Can't wait to see this thing in action.
SickStroke6.0 06-03-2011, 03:49 AM I just PM'd Craig at MPD about the batmowheel, I may be getting something built for me, who knows... :evil
strokin6L 06-03-2011, 01:02 PM I was told that the only way to get the batmowheel is that you have to buy the turbo. They don't sell just the wheel.
Matt05 06-03-2011, 01:45 PM Correct
powerstrokedkid87 06-03-2011, 03:47 PM donzimama
you get that fuelsystem yet?
donzimama 06-03-2011, 04:02 PM A1000 has been shipped. Still need a regulated return, cold side ic pipe is otw, injectors ad turbo show up tomorrow!
4x4freak 06-04-2011, 01:46 AM awesome build a Batmowheel S366 flows 88 lbs min a S368 with race cover flows 82-84 lbs min so that 66 flow closer to a 70mm with a conventional wheel.
if RCD did 650rwhp with a 71 so with erics tuning i think you can do every bit of that maybe more

Lol not with low icp.
donzimama 06-04-2011, 01:56 PM it may not keep icp up....but it will definitely have some air...

07_powerstroke 06-04-2011, 10:16 PM That turbo looks bad ass!
pizza pig 06-04-2011, 10:22 PM that turbo looks straight nasty
FaSSt9602 06-05-2011, 12:42 AM Every time I see that wheel first thing that comes to mind is a turbo that has ingested too much dirt for too long! Looks great, can't wait to see how it works out!
skippy 06-05-2011, 01:14 AM Iirc the 650hp pull was with 315s.things have come aways since then with tuning and stuff.
strokin6L 06-05-2011, 02:10 AM what are the specs of the charger...other than it being a non-wastegated 66mm bullseye with batmowheel. What's the size of the turbine wheel and housing?
donzimama 06-05-2011, 02:37 AM 66/68 . 88 open exhaust, injectors will be here monday slight setback but none the less will be commencing Tuesday-we'd.
smokersteve 06-05-2011, 03:34 AM Why is the intake turbine like that? ~
pizza pig 06-05-2011, 04:50 AM so it moves more air more efficiently... at least thats what i've gathered.
strokin6L 06-05-2011, 01:10 PM that's a big housing. Should move some air on the top end for sure. Why open housing and not divided? Do they have divided housings also
donzimama 06-05-2011, 01:43 PM Yes they have a divided .91 , wanted small as possible the .88 open was my choice, jess had a lot of bp with the .70 open and could make crazy boost so I decided to step down in turbine to a 68 to help with response. Should scream.
strokin6L 06-05-2011, 02:36 PM Yes they have a divided .91 , wanted small as possible the .88 open was my choice, jess had a lot of bp with the .70 open and could make crazy boost so I decided to step down in turbine to a 68 to help with response. Should scream.
do you know if they make smaller divided housings tho? .91 still seems awefully big...an .80 divided would be what i would like. just wondering tho cause there's a big gap between the .70 and a .88 it seems! I'm takin it that it's non wastegated then?
donzimama 06-05-2011, 02:54 PM .88 Is the smallest they have , .91 is the smallest divided, yea non wastegated, the gated ones are 500 more.
Silverback 06-05-2011, 09:28 PM Its an s300 right? Couldn't you buy and gated double voluted housing with a .80 A/R and bolt it on?
donzimama 06-05-2011, 11:09 PM Yes
donzimama 06-07-2011, 03:55 AM Update
Ssx is off and gone
Solid ic pipe is wonderful
New pedestal is in, good design turbonetics however It didnt come with the correct
Oil feed fitting so to the hydro shop tomorrow..
Bullseye Charger is in, v bands tight, on pedestal bolted in. Buttoning up the rest tomorrow, injectors and studs Wednesday. More pics to come.
Can't wait to try the charger with 190s lol.
pizza pig 06-07-2011, 04:29 AM getting anxious, get some vids!

was it pretty easy sitting the turbo on the pedistal and bolting it up?
donzimama 06-07-2011, 02:09 PM No. It took most of my day yesterday. Ended up 3 piecing the charger together.
strokin6L 06-07-2011, 03:23 PM wow, that sucks. I'll hafta remember not to get the turbonetics pedistal kit then, haha.
donzimama 06-07-2011, 05:08 PM I wouldn't say it's the pedestals fault, it is a good design, the adapter flange is perfect and the pedestal is a nice piece just think that any new turbo that wasn't designed to go in there is going to be a pita to do, properly
daryl4412 06-07-2011, 05:14 PM No. It took most of my day yesterday. Ended up 3 piecing the charger together.
I was only there for the last 4.5 hrs and it sucked. The heat didn't help at all either.
donzimama 06-07-2011, 05:51 PM Lmao. Now waiting on a Oil feed fitting from Bullseye because it's
Some European thread. Injectors go in tomorrow, a1000 came in today ;)
smokinstroker 06-07-2011, 07:18 PM any pictures of it mounted up?
HD-tech-NH 06-07-2011, 09:55 PM PICS!..................................please
Extended Power 06-08-2011, 01:02 AM What does this solid intercooler pipe look like?
I just made one to get rid of the top silicone boot.
motoxracer42 06-08-2011, 01:29 AM No. It took most of my day yesterday. Ended up 3 piecing the charger together.
its the same for me when i used bd's mount. i hated it cause i was changing turbos so much
strokin6L 06-08-2011, 02:06 AM No. It took most of my day yesterday. Ended up 3 piecing the charger together.
so how did you end up piecing it together in three pieces then? Did you bolt the adapter flange to the Y-pipe first? Just wondering how you did it in pieces...haha
smokinstroker 06-08-2011, 03:34 PM housings off more than likely
donzimama 06-08-2011, 03:47 PM Exhaust housing, center section, front cover
donzimama 06-09-2011, 12:39 AM She lives. Doing injectors Sunday now I need the truck to go to the beach tomorrow. About to test it with 190s
strokin6L 06-09-2011, 12:43 AM Nice. A bunch of pics and a vid would be nice...haha. Would love to hear how it spools and runs with the 190's in it cause i have the same size sticks as you right now.
pizza pig 06-09-2011, 12:54 AM pics and vids asap
donzimama 06-09-2011, 01:01 AM Just test drove. Will make 10psi at 1/4 throttle. Super quiet. Love the hair dryer delete. It sounds nasty. Pix and vid shortly. Definitely not as laggy as I thought with 190s...

07_powerstroke 06-09-2011, 01:23 AM Damn that thing sounds amazing! Never understood the hole whistle thing...
strokin6L 06-09-2011, 01:33 AM sounds like alot of non VGT turbo'd 6L's. I love the sound of the non VGT's better.
smokinstroker 06-09-2011, 01:57 AM get a video up of it driving
pizza pig 06-09-2011, 01:59 AM and reving too, wanna hear how spoolup sounds!
Silverback 06-09-2011, 03:41 PM So hows it drive your killin us son lol
donzimama 06-09-2011, 04:02 PM It's got to be the most streetable 66 around..hard to get under it, comes right up, in x race it will chug pretty good when it catches low gear around 45-48, quarter throttle will smoke but it will come up. The truck is so much quieter running, less going on it seems. You don't hear this turbo at all until it passes 10 psi and it's still a quiet whistle.
Headed to the beach for a king mackerel SKA tournament on the real donzimama. Injectors to commence Sunday night lmao. Seriously though.
smokinstroker 06-09-2011, 04:59 PM Record some temps on your trip. And get a vid of this thing runnin on the street if you can.
stroke of luck 06-09-2011, 08:24 PM yes...def want some vids of normal and hard driving. would be even better if you did it while you're 190's are still in!
4x4freak 06-09-2011, 09:04 PM What are your egts in OD at 60? and what size tires and stall are running?
donzimama 06-09-2011, 10:47 PM Stock tranny and converter. I like the street tune better so it doesn't lock as early and helps with boost. The turbo needs more fuel, but a 62 or 64 /68 with 190s would be unbelievable, I'll be in the ocean the next two days trying to catch a big king to pay for my tranny ;)
smokinstroker 06-10-2011, 01:12 PM and stil no temps or boost readings...
donzimama 06-10-2011, 07:32 PM There top secret sorry. Lol. I need a Dedicated boost gauge. Didn't know I had to answer every question without being called out lmao.
pizza pig 06-10-2011, 08:30 PM haha no ones calling out, just curious because I think you have the first batmowheel on a street truck, well at least on here.
smokinstroker 06-10-2011, 09:10 PM not trying to call you out, i think everyone is just pumped to hear how its running cause there is alot of hype about the new wheel.
donzimama 06-11-2011, 12:06 AM I should have reworded lol, no offense taken. I'll get some more data and report soon. And another video driving.
strokin6L 06-11-2011, 01:20 AM curious to know when it starts making boost.
motoxracer42 06-11-2011, 01:43 AM check drive pressure too. i would like to see how those 68mm turbine wheels are.

donzimama 06-13-2011, 04:26 PM Went with an a1000 instead after reading enough lack of pressure threads
powerstrokedkid87 06-13-2011, 04:40 PM Went with an a1000 instead after reading enough lack of pressure threads
you doing the regulated return with that?
donzimama 06-13-2011, 04:42 PM Definitely.. At te same time as well, turbo made it I assume?
MikeDually 06-13-2011, 04:45 PM ok thanks
MikeDually 06-13-2011, 04:54 PM Ok, so I assume you mean an Areomotive A1000 pump, did you keep your original in place?
Granted I'm new to learning about fuel systems, but my stock just went so I'm learning now. Are alot of guys running the a1000, I only read about ADII, ADI, raptor, etc. This is a first.
stroke of luck 06-13-2011, 04:56 PM vids dude.......vids.
donzimama 06-13-2011, 05:03 PM I'm no fuel system expert, there are plenty of fuel system threads around, use the search. Vids otw!
smokinstroker 06-13-2011, 05:15 PM hey donzi are you still running no gauges?
were all dieing for readings, im sure we could help you out with an inisght or something to get us some data.
donzimama 06-13-2011, 05:25 PM Caught me haha. We call it runnin RENEGADE around here lmao. .I'm in the market for some lol.

donzimama 06-13-2011, 10:56 PM Two driving videos posted, one is 1/4 throttle and the second (elm street) is about half throttle up hill. If someone would post the links I would appreciate it, YouTube donzimama

That's way too much fuel for that turbo. 190's are too big for the PowerMax, and that's smaller than the PowerMax...

lol it wouldnt be but its going to seem like it with 150s. they get really smokey when they arent atomizing. with 100s it would probably run really hard. you might make more power with the 190s lol
daryl4412 06-14-2011, 02:13 AM Drove the truck yesterday. Sounds awesome and pulls very hard. Far harder than the elite ssx.

It says he's got 100's in his sig.
But think about 190's even with a PowerMax, high EGT's, smokey as hell, and shaft play after 5,000 miles. Imagine them with an even smaller turbo...
donzimama 06-14-2011, 02:36 AM This is a Non vgt thread

SickStroke6.0 06-14-2011, 02:48 AM This is a Non vgt thread
Sorry bro! While we're on the topic of non-VGT's, would you go with a Turbonetics Stage 1 non-VGT or a PowerMax? I'll be sticking with stock injectors and then maybe upgrade to some 155/165/175's, but no bigger.

i'm pretty sure the pmax is bigger than the tn stage 1...and cheaper too. i'll have to look to confirm.

Need to start new thread
Sorry for de railling the thread bro
SickStroke6.0 06-14-2011, 03:40 AM Yep, sorry for the derail. Back on topic... are you planning on running a RR in conjunction with the A1000 pump?

Thank ya sir!
smokinstroker 06-14-2011, 06:04 AM is it just me or is the factory boost gauge not reading either?
donzimama 06-14-2011, 11:21 AM I've been wondering the same thing, it reads boost but not past 30, where does it read from?
Cutting-Edge Diesel 06-14-2011, 11:30 AM That is normal. alot of trucks wont read past 29. both of my trucks do it. Factory gauge and the edge stops at 29 and the aftermarket boost gauge reads 58psi
It gets its reading from the map sensor off the intake manifold on the pass side.
donzimama 06-14-2011, 11:35 AM So a mechanical gauge is needed. If anyone has a quad pod pm me
Cutting-Edge Diesel 06-14-2011, 11:37 AM yeah, back when I had my 190s and pmax I thought I was only making 29psi. Turns out I could get it to 49psi when I got my mechanical. I have a cheap 60psi boost gauge I could send you
strokin6L 06-14-2011, 01:08 PM That is normal. alot of trucks wont read past 29. both of my trucks do it. Factory gauge and the edge stops at 29 and the aftermarket boost gauge reads 58psi

when i was running the edge juice before i got the SCT, my boost would go to 33psi on the attitude monitor. Maybe it's the difference between the model year trucks.
Countryboy07 06-14-2011, 03:03 PM I've got a quad over head pod from Autometer that I am trying to sell. PM if you are interested.

It really varies. Some trucks will, some won't. Mine won't read past 29 PSI either. In fact, it reads about 4-5 PSI lower than my analog gauge at all times.

yeah i've been hearing some trucks boost readings vary. But my old insight and the new insight CS i have read exactly the same as my analog gauge. I decided to check the readings one day to see if they were different, but ended up being the same.
Dangyo 06-14-2011, 03:46 PM My factory boost gauge reads to about 32psi or so. When I data log with my SCT. it reads about 36psi. So I really have no idea what boost numbers I am seeing.
donzimama 06-15-2011, 12:25 AM 225 150s are in, they work, and I'm coming for every one of you haters ;)

smokinstroker 06-15-2011, 01:51 PM bout ready to see what this thing is running for temps and back pressure. so far it looks like its working out great for you.
can you get some time to check rpm the turbo starts to light at next time your drivin?
pizza pig 06-15-2011, 01:54 PM you going to get it retuned?
donzimama 06-15-2011, 02:03 PM This tune is for the injectors and stock tranny, I wanted to start very conservatively especially until the fuelsystem is complete, even then I will keep this tune until the tranny is done, it runs very similar to my 190 75s on x-race, but with more streetable shifts and later lock ups which makes for a pretty easy driver, it's got a lot of potential but I am trying to make it last til the next mod lol, spools around 2k
pizza pig 06-15-2011, 06:51 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ6UrafwiJ8&feature=feedu
Not bad at all smoke wise, lets get some driving vids. I wonder what its like in over drive when you lay into the pedal a little

i know with it being a 66mm turbo, it will spool a bit slower than the smaller ones. But i thought this bullseye 66 with the batmowheel should spool faster than a 64 at least. My 64 spools and starts to make boost at 1700.
motoxracer42 06-16-2011, 02:41 AM i doubt it would spool faster than a 64. he also is probably reading off the stock tach and its not all that accurate lol. mine says 2k but the edge says 1700 or so. i honestly havent noticed a billet wheel spooling faster than a cast wheel. either way i am excited for donzi and cant wait for some vids. i need to put my airdog on too lol. i got it in the beginning of the year and its just sitting in my clean room in the box.
pizza pig 06-16-2011, 03:01 AM I keep watching these videos over and over, Im about to just start spending like wildfire, but i gotta keep my head on my shoulders for a little while LOL
donzimama 06-16-2011, 01:16 PM Just got a spare motor....... Heads going to machine shop to be decked and checked, might do a little port and polish while they're there if they can be. Brought back Into spec., intake might go with it, got a hose and fitting place building a regulated return out of stainless for pennies compared to 600 bucks lol
donzimama 06-16-2011, 01:25 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tAHhuZQvxY
RescueF250 06-16-2011, 09:34 PM 600 bucks is worth the hassle. How they gonna make the banjo fittings ? also did you map out the lines ? to be bent a certain way ?
donzimama 06-16-2011, 10:05 PM Got some stock fuel lines to use the fitting, hose shop is gonna use my spare motor to run the lines as mock up said 50 bucks tops back to the regulator.
strokin6L 06-16-2011, 11:28 PM you can actually make your own RR fairly cheap. Just get some fittings and line from summit.

donzimama 06-18-2011, 12:10 PM Yeah I ended up getting two extra banjo fittings from stock fuel lines going to have custom stainless made.
RescueF250 06-18-2011, 12:15 PM Been down that route JJ, hope you have better luck, tried a couple different thing didn't work out for me. Driver side front is the worse one to get to.
donzimama 06-18-2011, 12:21 PM I'm building it off my spare motor as a Mach up from the heads to the regulator, I'll let you know how it goes .

motoxracer42 06-19-2011, 02:10 PM all of my spare motors have been either free or less than $250 lol. none of them are worth anything though cause they all need to be bored and for some reason all of the machine shops around here suck and cant find a torque plate to bore them.
donzimama 06-20-2011, 11:28 AM Matt how did your 66/s480 setup perform? What injectors?
motoxracer42 06-20-2011, 12:31 PM Matt how did your 66/s480 setup perform? What injectors?
Ran pretty good at the track. I have some vids of it running somewhere lol. Ran 10s and did 1097hp on two small stages of spray. I didnt really enjoy street driving it but i used a 74mm turbine wheel with it. I ran 260cc hybrids with 100% nozzles.
donzimama 06-20-2011, 12:58 PM In the pumpkin? I will have my RR done today.
Cutting-Edge Diesel 06-20-2011, 03:08 PM I believe It was in his race truck.
Im going to be running 66/74/? with a S480 soon. hopefully before the end of the summer. I think your 66 would be better for street driving. I plan on getting a gated housing for it.

donzimama 06-26-2011, 02:53 PM Regulated return is finished as soon as the return from the regulator line comes back from the hose shop Monday. Will have it installed by the end of the week. My RR build is over on the A for those wondering what happened to the thread. Looking like I am going to try to dyno July 16 up at the nhrda event at VMP.

stroke of luck 07-09-2011, 11:32 PM are you upgrading hoop? So far the stocker is proven over 1000hp...
donzimama 07-09-2011, 11:45 PM With hybrids though. Less oil more fuel. I don't have money for hybrids. My nozzles drop icp down with hot tunes so I'm switching to 04 pump and rails. Well, it's not just any pump either. ;)

HMMM, wierd cause guys that want more oil are switching to the '05-07 pumps and oil rail system. For example, Shawn Ellerton converted his '03 to the newer '05 pump and oil system and has made over 1000+ HP with that stock pump and oil system.
donzimama 07-10-2011, 02:45 AM Yes I've read that also. It's a t-1000 I'm going to be beta testing from T.E. , dyno Baseline and icp readings before and after. He's only doing the 03-04 style as of now.
fordboy11 07-10-2011, 04:38 AM Man your rig sure is looking sick mang. Keep up the good work.

smokinstroker 07-10-2011, 04:02 PM why running such high psi?
Fast-6.0 07-10-2011, 05:27 PM With hybrids though. Less oil more fuel. I don't have money for hybrids. My nozzles drop icp down with hot tunes so I'm switching to 04 pump and rails. Well, it's not just any pump either. ;)
The 04 rails are the same as the rails you have now, why swap them?
CanadianRedneck 07-10-2011, 05:32 PM The 04 rails are the same as the rails you have now, why swap them?
LOL, I was thinking the same thing Tadd. Sure you need to change the branch tubes and crap but the rails are all the same for sure
smokersteve 07-10-2011, 05:47 PM 69psi is not high. between 71 and 65 is the best area to be in. Once you get above that, then it begins to be come too high of pressure.
CanadianRedneck 07-10-2011, 05:59 PM No point in running 70psi though, I only run 60psi and its more than enough
Extended Power 07-10-2011, 07:28 PM Oil rails are different on the '03s... They are a straight log, instead of the wavey rail.
60 Psi is tons for fuel pressure...long as you have the volume behind it.
donzimama 07-10-2011, 10:25 PM Keeping rails swapping pump, are 03 log style better at holding psi? Yes boys she has some fuel.....with the uppipes holding backpressure it does wonders for turbo spool lmao
donzimama 07-10-2011, 10:30 PM It's also alot quieter injector operation with pressure, smoother driving for sure.
Fast-6.0 07-10-2011, 10:33 PM Keeping rails swapping pump, are 03 log style better at holding psi? Yes boys she has some fuel.....with the uppipes holding backpressure it does wonders for turbo spool lmao
You're gonna have to swap the branch tube to do the conversion which includes pulling the rear cover. The 03's don't flow as much oil. The issue with pressure is not the rails but the spool valves.
Fast-6.0 07-10-2011, 10:39 PM No point in running 70psi though, I only run 60psi and its more than enough
Agreed.
donzimama 07-10-2011, 11:26 PM If it's not hurting them who cares.

Fast-6.0 07-11-2011, 03:17 PM If it's not hurting them who cares.
Because it puts unwanted stress on the fuel o-ring.
strokin6L 07-11-2011, 03:41 PM i agree with Tadd. To much unneeded fuel pressure could blow out a rubber o-ring.
donzimama 07-11-2011, 04:04 PM Thanks for the tip.

smokinstroker 07-12-2011, 01:31 AM what housing does he have now?
